NEEDING FEDERAL SAFETY ACCREDITATION
Relay Consulting Services also provides clients with assistance in meeting Federal Safety Office Accreditation. Our consultants have had years of experience as Federal Safety Officers with years of experience in both auditing companies that are applying for accreditation or are being audited as part of the Federal Safety Certification requirements as well as experience in managing companies get their accreditation.

Our consultants bring a wealth of knowledge to our clients by developing their systems or creating whole new systems to meet the Federal Safety Criteria and to ensure the system evolves as the Federal Safety Commission continually improves the system to ensure that our clients systems are maintained to current standards. We have provided such services to small and large organisations such as Multiplex and several other large construction companies to obtain, maintain and keep accreditation.
We provide mentoring programs to assist companies as they apply, obtain and maintain their Occupational Health & Safety accreditation where we assist both ground level staff in hazard based safety management and project & senior management mentoring in dealing with systems based requirements.
We provide a mentoring service as well to help our clients understand the way the Federal system works from our experienced auditors and consultants. We provide an education so that the underpinning requirements are understood and not simply so that they develop systems to meet the criteria or the satisfaction of a OFSC auditor but that the OHS Management System is developed to achieve the outcomes of the OFSC Criteria and help the client make their OHS Systems applicable to their operations and a benefit not a hindrance.
We can provide one to one mentoring or workshops with our clients on whatever basis our clients desire to help them seek and/or maintain accreditation.
OFSC Audit assistance
We also provide assistance to our clients by helping them manage when the Federal Safety Commission schedule audits for our clients. We can provide assistance to you during the audit and after in areas such as providing evidence of compliance and system adjustment as well as closing out any non- conformances that may be found.
We can be there on the day on the hazard inspection and during the document review of the OHS Management System. We can assist in addressing areas on the spot and helping to address any issues from the audit on the day.
After the audit we can help with closing out any issues or improvement opportunities. We can also assist in interpreting the OFSC Report and driving our clients to close out areas quickly and efficiently as well as setting short term and long term goals in addressing the OHS Management System. We also will assist in you in trying to arrange the next audit to close out any non-conformances that require another OFSC Audit as well. We stay with you throughout the whole process and don’t just walk away to leave you to “pick up the pieces”.
OFSC Style Audits
Also we can provide OFSC mock audits prior to the actual OFSC audit day/s by our consultants that are past or present Federal Safety Officers so our clients can experience what an OFSC Audit is like and to trial their OHS Systems and prepare the project teams for the audit day and what to expect.
We base the audit off either the criteria of the OFSC as available publicly or customise the audit to assess the selected criteria as part of a client’s upcoming accreditation or re-accreditation audit or for an upcoming project audit. We involve all levels of management in these audits as well as staff and contractors.
The audit involves assessment of current OHS Management systems and procedures as well as hazard based inspections of selected areas of the OFSC hazard list. We provide a comprehensive audit report reflective of the actual one a client would receive in an OFSC audit complete with major and/or minor non-conformances, opportunities for improvement and recommendations. We then work with or clients to address any issues prior to the actual OFSC Audit to prepare our clients.
